01/11/05 - Gladstone's Under The Sun Awarded 2nd Maine Technology Institute Seed Grant
(BAR HARBOR, ME) After successful development of an innovative formulation for processing Maine grown fruits under an earlier Maine Technology Institute Seed Grant, Gladstone's Under The Sun has been awarded a 2nd MTI Seed Grant for developing an optimal manufacturing plan to make these agricultural products available for existing commercial demand. It is the goal of Gladstone's Under The Sun to have a new manufacturing facility producing these new products by the end of 2005.
Gladstone's Under The Sun continues to support and promote Maine agriculture while producing delicious and nutritious snack foods which have been recognized for both their health benefits and their selection and mixtures of high quality ingredients.
Their company is experiencing steady growth leading to national and international recognition and distribution. One goal of this commercialization plan is to expand their collaboration with other Maine businesses and to form a closer association with the Maine farmers and growers. With this new technology and products, Gladstone's Under The Sun plans to provide new opportunities and market access for smaller growers as their reach into the high-end natural food and gourmet markets expands.
